Paint It Black

Our last assignment for the semester wil be an oil painting of black objects , a colored object and 2 color background. Students have to paint black NOT using black. They have to mix it by using all the other colors.

THE ZINGER

  For their first foray into color and their introduction to painting students set up a MICROLAB ( a set of specific problems to solve quickly) of a REDLECTIVE OBJECT, A COLORED OBJECT, AND SHADOWS CROSSING 2 COLORS .  they worked from life after using a smartfone as a viewfinder .

 This is an example of a COLOR SEARCH on the same page as the microlab. sometime interesting juxtapositions happen.
