·         What is my drawing ABOUT? (value, shading, shadows composition, etc?)

· WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE I HAD TO FACE?

·         HOW DID I MEET THAT CHALLENGE?
·         IN WHAT WAYS DID I EXPERIENCE THE SHIFT TO RIGHT BRAIN ARTTISTIC THINKING?

· WHERE DOES MY DRAWING REALLY WORK?

AT THE BEGINNING- the year starts

Picking a "Mentor" is a very important part of the artistic process. Mentors are those who have forged ahead of us and made a path that we can follow for awhile. There are so many styles and techniques to explore and mentors give us "permission" to try new ways. Some people are natural ITEMIZERS and some are SUMMARIZERS. Students can find which artists  they connect with and learn from them.

Our first assignment was to pick a "mentor" and design a 2 page spread about and in the style of that artist.
