For their first foray into color and their introduction to painting students set up a MICROLAB ( a set of specific problems to solve quickly) of a REDLECTIVE OBJECT, A COLORED OBJECT, AND SHADOWS CROSSING 2 COLORS . they worked from life after using a smartfone as a viewfinder .
This is an example of a COLOR SEARCH on the same page as the microlab. sometime interesting juxtapositions happen.
